As we read the label of those brand name bones in the pet store - the same bones we were buying - we came to realize we had no idea exactly what we were feeding our "children". As with many commercial foods, the list of additives and preservatives were longer than the list of actual food ingredients. What were these ingredients doing to or for our girls? What would happen if we made the same treats without the additives and preservatives? And so the baking began. It all started with basic recipes from doggie cookbooks and to our surprise, the dogs loved them! One thing led to another - or should I say, one batch led to another - and three years later The Bone Bakery was born.
